Rach-Face!

So I decided to slam my finger in my coin vault on Tuesday morning. ( I work at a bank incase the whole coin vault thing seemed odd). I didn't do it on purpose, I accidently kicked it shut while trying to put something in it. Well needless to say it instantly swelled like a big balloon and turned multicolored shades of red and purple, which I took all of these as not good signs. On top of those heat was pulsing out of my finger and the throbing pain was quite a dead give away that I injured it pretty bad. So the lovely manager I have drove me to the doctor, which thank god falls under workmans comp. There the doctor told me so you broke it, and I suspect possible tendon damage and referred me to a specialist. At this point couldn't bend it and it was EXTREMELY painful just having it sit there. So I believed him and thought I broke it. Well I got a nice little splint to put on it and 30 tablets of Vicodin. HAHA! They didn't even give me that many when I had my wisdom teeth taken out.

So yesterday I saw the specialist. This past week I have kept it wrapped and had to take something for the pain constantly because it STILL hurt like CRAAZY bad. I figured there was something up other than a break. Well come to find out, I never broke my finger. I have a crush injury. I crushed all of the nerves and tissue in the top if my finger, which explains why I had really bad tingling pain up my finger. Plus the swelling hadn't really gone down. So I am told I might not get all of my nerve feeling back in my finger, which by the way is my RIGHT index finger and I just happen to be right handed. Yippie for me. So now not only am I out one finger pretty much, I am out the one it is taped to as well. I have two weeks of the "buddy tape" being on my two fingers and I have to practice bending it. Plus I have to take lovely STRONG anti-inflamatory pills to keep the swelling down. My limitations....no lifting of anything 5 or more lbs with that hand....and get this...limited repetitive motions with my RIGHT hand....I WORK AT A BANK AS A TELLER. HAHA! I count money for a living, do you have any idea how repetitive that is. So needless to say this kinda blows. Oh and to top the cake off, I have two computer classes this quarter. YAY for me. It takes me forever to type. But it's all good...two weeks and we will get the update.
